There are a lot of butt-hurt and privileged people responding to this. Of course “hard” is subjective. If you can get past his choice of words and see the bigger picture you will realize the author is criticizing how we often, like a cult, choose to think and talk about what we do. He’s trying to offer some perspective and I’m all for it. Feel free to continue to call your work hard, but just a be self-aware enough to know that you’re probably being dramatic and self-congratulatory as fuck and that it’s really an absolute privilege to be paid (probably relatively well) to think and talk in an air-conditioned room all day on a fancy device. Thanks for posting this!
