Day 81

Kevin McCallister’s dad died today. Rest in power, Peter. Seriously. Home Alone was everything. Peter forgot to put the garage door down over 25 years ago as he was going on vacation to France. Oh, he also forgot his 8-year-old son. No big deal. Why? Because it set the premise for quite possibly the most enjoyable Holiday movie anyone living on this earth right now will ever see in their lifetime. For that, we must thank Peter for his child neglect.

Peter (or his wife or both) must have had a crazy sick job because he lived in a freaking mansion, could afford to take a family of 30 to Paris and never seemed to break a sweat. In Home Alone 2 he lost his wallet and didn’t even notice until he landed. Why? Because he had it like that.

Though we never knew what Peter did for a living, we will assume he was either smart enough to make a lot of money or even smarter to marry a woman who makes a lot of money. To be honest, Peter seemed kinda dumb, so it’s more likely that he married someone who made bank — -Kate — Kevin’s Mom. She was a badass.

But anyway, long way of saying we appreciate Peter and he will be sorely missed.
